Pop Bottle Poultry

I'm really excited about this craft because it is all my own idea AND it uses recyclables!! An Easter and an earth day craft all rolled into one!!

It was fast and simple. All we did was take the paper from under E's shredder and stuff it into the round pop bottles I had been saving since November. (The same ones I used to make my New Year's craft!) You could also use torn tissue paper or have kids practice scissor skills by cutting the paper. This step is great for a sensory experience and hand-eye coordination! Tip- It is much neater when the kids stuff their bottles OVER the bin!

After it is all stuffed, we just replaced the lid and added hand-cut construction paper feet and beaks, then embellished with googly eyes and feathers from my craft stash!
(I finished the chicken after B lost interest in the craft.)I loved how the duck and chicken turned out so much that I made my own chick! Aren't they cute?!?!You could also take everything off and out of them later and reuse them for a different craft- no harm, no "fowl"!!

What a great project! I especially love the one on the far right with the big bill. It makes me laugh! It looks like the boys had a great time doing it too. Thanks for sharing!

P.S. You should start counting the projects you can get out of those great pop bottles!
