Over the weekend, they built Harry Potter Legos that they designed,
BROCCOLI AND RICE PILAF
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
3 cups broccoli, chopped
1 1/2 cups long-grain rice, uncooked
3 cups chicken
medium saucepan frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for another 3 minutes. Add the rice and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in the broth. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat and simmer until the rice is tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
W had too much fun with his post-bath hair.
I call this one, "The Kate Gosselin"
WEDNESDAY, Craft at the library,
and Awana started back up! B is in Sparks book 2, and W is in Truth and Training book 3.
B no longer cries at night or on weekends about going to school, and has brought home at least three certificates for moving his clip to the highest mark! (I can tell it has made a difference on how he takes his time and does his best! )
He has also brought home so many blisters from the monkey bars that we keep bandaids in his backpack so he doesn't have to visit the school nurse so often! I asked him why he doesn't just stay off the monkey bars and he says, "because I love them!".
W went to the STEM center for the gifted program for the first time this week. They did word puzzles and a paper bridge problem. He said it was like an "all-day recess"! (W is in middle of photo in green chair with his back to us.)
FRIDAY, I ordered the magic ingredients that will hopefully save me money on iced coffee,
and felt old after I turned on the radio and W said.... "This sounds like 19 something music. You know, oldies!" It was late 1990's!
B brought home a certificate for a free Wendy's kid's meal because he was the "Caught Being Good" winner at school!
